Sitting the exam
The part nobody publishes in a syllabus. For PL-900 the logistics are study strategy: what you are allowed to read while the clock runs changes how you should practise, and what a second attempt costs changes when you should book.
Where you sit it
- The testing session will feature proctoring alongside potential interactive task components.
- An active proctor watches over the examination.
- Candidates may encounter interactive parts during their test.
- The cost varies depending on the country or region where the proctored test takes place.
If you do not pass
- An initial failure requires a 24-hour wait prior to attempting the test again.
- Failing the initial attempt requires waiting 24 hours prior to a new try.
- Following any subsequent attempts up to five, a 14-day waiting period is enforced.
- A gap of 14 days applies between every subsequent try up to a maximum of 5 attempts.
- Candidates are restricted from taking a specific exam more than five times within a 12-month timeframe starting from the initial try.
- No candidate is permitted to take a specific test exceeding five times inside a 12-month duration starting from the initial attempt.
- Passing the exam blocks any retakes unless the corresponding certification has expired.
- Reaching five failures allows a candidate to test again 12 months following the first attempt date.
- Applicable fees must be paid to retake the exam.
- Passing prevents any retake unless the active certification expires.
- Waivers for the retake waiting period are only granted if internet connectivity issues or equipment failure occurred and a Pearson VUE case was created.
- Candidates must cover the fee when retaking the exam if applicable.
- Waivers for the waiting period are restricted exclusively to internet connectivity issues or equipment failures accompanied by a Pearson VUE case.
- Requests for waivers must supply the Pearson VUE case number to verify eligibility.
- Missing an internet connectivity issue or equipment failure means the candidate does not qualify for a waiver.
Booking it
- Registration can be completed through Pearson Vue or via Certiport for students and educators.
- This examination does not serve as a prerequisite for any role-based certifications.
- Registering using a personal MSA account is strongly recommended rather than an organizational AAD account to prevent record loss upon leaving the organization.
